Celtic imitative of a rare Macedonian issue struck under Philip V and Perseus, 187 - 168 B.C. The choice was appropriate for the Serdi Celts as the river Strymon runs through the Serdi region.
Bronze AE 20, Imitative of a Macedonian Kingdom type, Philip V and Perseus, 187 - 168 B.C., SNG Cop 1299, Fair, 8.471g, 20.3mm, 180o, obverse reed-wreathed head of the river god Strymon right; reverse trident, no inscription, a few three symbols or letters, a very strong psychometric reading piece connected with at least two pitched battles and a "crime scene" murder, probably over money. Found with metal detector.
